2007 HCAMP Student Quotes

"My first-ever music camp is about to come to an end.  It has been a wonderful experience for me.  I'm a Johnny-come-lately to the world of music, picking up my first instrument as an adult, with no musical background whatsoever."

"I love the violin, and have one simple goal: to achieve, through serious effort, whatever skill level I can muster.  This camp has opened my eyes to the fact that there is no end to that goal, so I'll just continue this musical journey."

"Very good, I will return next year if we have the same instructors."

"I will return because of how well the camp was run."

"Campus is so beautiful and welcoming!"

"This was my first music camp ever and I really enjoyed myself."

"Great learning experience."

"Enjoyed the format of 5 days with enough class time to make it worthwhile.  Apartments were superb."

The 4th annual HCAMP will be held in Kerrville, Texas, June 25th-June 29th, 2008, featuring a stellar lineup of acoustic music instructors for all skill levels.

The camp will feature classes and structured jams in banjo, dulcimers, guitar, bass, mandolin, fiddle and voice.  Instructions will be suitable for novice to advanced players and special jam sessions tailored to your skill level.  Classes will be limited to maintain individual attention and small class sizes.

The camp is held on the beautiful grounds of Schreiner University, a tree studded campus adjacent to the Guadalupe River in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.  Kerrville is 60 miles NW of San Antonio, Texas and 70 miles west of Austin, Texas on IH-10.

Lodging will be in campus apartments with lots of time for informal jams and playing.   Sodexho will be providing the meals on campus.  There are RV campsites and motel rooms available in Kerrville.  For more information on off campus accommodations, go to www.kerrvilletexascvb.com or call Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau at 830-792-3535.
