Steve Kriechbaum comes to the Camp from Austin, Texas. He has been playing the harmonica for over 40 years. He loves the blues, traditional blues, country blues, and jazz influenced blues. Gospel music as well as good old rock n’ roll fill out his musical menu.
Currently Steve plays with the E-Flat Porch Band, Lil Red and several other groups from time to time. He was the premier Harmonica Champion for the Kerrville Folk Festival “ Great Harmonica Blow Off”
His goals for the camp are to teach the blues harp while giving students an appreciation for the instrument. He will also teach techniques for playing without being winded, basic blues progressions preparing students to get up and play with a band.
